Scaling up the audio and music tech ecosystem in India

Every year I meet at least 10 more Indians in-person or online who convey how they wish there was an audio tech environment in India when they were studying. Now that they are working abroad, they find it impossible to build it from scratch. Many even share their aspiration to someday contribute to the scene, if it were to develop. Well, I’m happy to inform that the time has come. https://audio.dev/adcx-india-26
ADCx India by the Audio Developer Conference (ADC) has unlocked many doors. So if you’re that someone, I’d highly recommend you take a look now. Come attend ADCx India 26 on 29th March 2026 submit a talk, mentor attendees & let your connections know about it. And maybe consider sponsoring too? (Reach out to discuss about this)

Since 2024, ADCx India has become the recurring theme that has done the following:
- Made it evident that there are others here who have been pursuing music tech, at least as a hobby, all the way to doing research in their universities and hosting live performances (including creative experiences).
- Brought like-minded folks in one place yearly to upgrade beyond their local cohorts, cities & towns, into collaborating across states.
- Made new learners feel more confident in spending more time into this. New learners = students as well as experts from various industries who finally want to get into something they feel passionate about.
- Made music tech a hype keyword in the country, so much so that many people now want to run their own activities. While I’m not a fan of people jumping solely for hype, this unfortunately is the only way things get any attention in India. So my hope is that as long as the message reaches that one kid in college who might still be hesitant to hop on, the purpose is served. Anyone following the hype will anyway jump to the next hype when the time comes. On the positive side, they might realise this to be their passion and end up contributing beyond their own initial plan.
- Turned heads of investors aka those with budgets. It takes a few examples to break the ice and we now have so many people proving the point. ADCx India speakers have presented marvellous ideas that has reached the global audience, attendees have formed startups and many even moved to higher studies in pro audio.

I should mention that these are not completely new occurrences. Some of it happened in small pockets in the past. All that ADCx India has done is to funnel the energy into establishing and scaling up an audio tech ecosystem, so that the information & access isn’t confined to those who happen to know that one friend who is doing all this.
We live in a global economy so it makes sense that people with talent are present where the talent has a demand. Hence, no much scope in India…just yet. If you’d like to be a part of the change, I hope to see you on 29th March 2026 at the Bangalore International Centre. https://audio.dev/adcx-india-26Share this article with someone who will find this helpful.
